These are tomatillos. But Roneet and I stared at them for a long time in the grocery store and came up with two very different (but equally) plausible answers.
Me (in my head, quietly and unobtrusively to myself): What is that? It looks like that thing from Little Shop of Horrors.
Roneet (very loudly to ensure that the whole grocery store understands): WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?? IT LOOKS LIKE REALLY OLD MUPPETS WITH NO TEETH.
So there you have it, folks. Both good solutions. Take your pick.
