apparently.... this is art. i kid you not, this is part of an art exhibit on Grand St. downtown. maybe its working because it got me to stop and that is no easy task when i've got my eye on getting to the A train as fast as my feet can take me, not yielding for pedestrians, tiny dogs or crazy cat callers. but this.... i think it has something to do with the MTA. i think these rats are little track rats that crawl around in the train tracks and then dash to safety right before an oncoming train crushes them. they're looking up at us, as we look down on them, both wondering what the hell the other is doing.or they're just plastic rats in a window and I'm sleep deprived.
