Reason #8231 why CTA beats the MTA: the signs on the trains change to show which direction the train is going. And it changes when the train turns around! These gears actually turn the sign around! So that when you're waiting in the station (and the train opens on the same side at every station) you only see the correct sign! It's magical!
Ps. Reason #8230 is that the trains are wired for cell reception everywhere, even underground!
