Day 275 says "Ole!"

These juice machines are in the pizza place down the block from the theatre. There are too many things funny about the text to even start, so I'll let you create your own joke. We think they're hilarious and we laugh about them every time we see them. Tonight was no exception. Ole!

Day 274 looks upward

We had one glorious day of beautiful, sunny weather here in LA. It's been cloudy and gray and rainy but the sun came out for a few short hours. I took this lying flat on the beach and didn't know if and how it would come out. Pretty well, I'd say.

Day 273 plays it safe

Is this a pull tab inside the trunk of Jamie's car in case someone gets locked in? Yes, it is. Is it glow in the dark so you can see it when you're locked in? Yes, it is. Is it the funniest thing I've ever seen? Why, yes, it is!

day 275: lawn chairs in the city

i pretty psyched about how this picture came out. I was trying really hard to capture the pure awesomeness that is the lawn chairs in TSQ. granted this was taken with my crappy camera on my phone, next time we return (next week), except some better quality shots.

seriously, who doesn't love these chairs in the middle of times square?? i can't get over it!

day 274: here comes the sun (finally)

my last day in LA the sun decided to make an appearance. and knowing how much you all (you all being our loving and adoring audience) love beach pictures of us, i present to you.... manhattan beach.

i'm just now realizing the humor in us going to manhattan beach. maybe its just funny to me? and.... scene. if LA had been like this every day I was there, I don't think I would have been able to leave back to cloudy/rainy NY.

day 273: travel gnomes

we found Longs in LA and I almost peed my pants with excitement! (i think I'll have this reaction to anything from Hawaii/home for the rest of my life.) Then I was informed that Longs in LA is gross and dirty and not at all like the beautiful piece of heaven from home that I spent many high school mornings in. Then I sang the "Make Longs a part of your day" jingle and EB gave me the "bitch, you crazy" face.


anyway.... look what I found!!! these creepy travel-ocity gnomes are awesome and if i wasn't a poor artist I would totally buy one! love it.

day 272: do it yourself

so.... remember this blog? I have been so good at updating then i went on a vacay and I neglected this baby project. BUT! I totes took pictures... just unfortunately didn't have internet access with which to share those pics with ya'll. h'anyway, on with the show....

LA. crazy. grungy. fancy. huge. driving. traffic. parks. oh and current home of EB. I took this shot right outside of the pantages. Someone basically painted this "post no bills" onto the wall and i'm obsessed with it. I love activisim!

Day 272 likes order

Le Pain Quotidien is one of my favorite brunch places in Westwood. I've been there three times since being here. Twice this week! This is a pretty boring picture of what I thought was a cool view from our table. Come visit and I'll show you how cool the place really is.

Day 271 goes BOLD.

Right near the airport is this parking lot. I don't know what it is but I think it's awesome. I'm going to start writing everything in BIG. BOLD. SERIOUS. LETTERS.

Day 270 parties hardy

Ah, the Frolic Room. Right next to the theatre, right on Hollywood Blvd, right in the sewer of LA. Literally the grossest, trashiest, dive-iest bar in the world. Just the way I like 'em.

day 271: high in the sky

i always love views from airplanes! do i love airplanes? nope. but the views from the sky, excellent! Here's a pic about 20 minutes before landing in LA. I LOVE the smoggy clouds going towards the mountain. so cool.

ps. sorry for the delayed posting! internet access is hard to come by in the CA.

day 270: repetition, repetition, repetition!

I had a history teacher in HS who completely swore by the benefits of repetition. It may have been her only real teaching method. She would say, "girls! the best way to learn anything is repetition! repetition! repetition!" in her crazy faux british accent, and we'd all want to throw sharp objects at her. But anyway! The point of this picture is the repetition. I think you'd really have to be *not* paying attention to miss that this is an uptown train going to the Bronx & Queens.

Now, how a train can be going to the Bronx AND be going to Queens.... i'll never quite understand.

day 269: dusk to dawn

i love this picture because of the gradient of color from the top left corner to the bottom left one. One side reminds me of the colors of a sunset, the other side like a sunrise. it's just a plush and pleasant tree now that the weather is warm, i really like it!
